Mathematics Activity

Creating Word Problems on Your Own
Purpose: Our students are assisted in several ways, including developing their complex-level thinking skills, gaining a better understanding of mathematical concepts and procedures, organizing and categorizing mathematical concepts, finding connections between different concepts, and associating with their intuitive ideas, mathematical language, and abstract symbols to enhance their communication skills.
Finding Answers from the Books
Purpose: Our students are inspired to read more extracurricular books about mathematics to deepen their knowledge and arouse their interest in learning mathematics.
Problem-Solving Training Programme
Purpose: Our students are trained to learn about and analyze word problems so that they are able to solve difficult problems strategically.
Measurement Training Programme
Purpose: Through a large number of measurement activities, our students are trained to record the measurement results with the right units and solve simple measurement problems by integrating the knowledge of numbers, measurement, graphics, and space.
Arithmetic Training Programme
Purpose: Our students are trained to calculate with higher accuracy and within a shorter period of time with better arithmetic skills.

Measurement Activity

Purpose: Our students are trained to learn about the measurement units and build a sense of space.

Graphics and Space Design Contest

Purpose: Our students are trained to improve their sense of space and creativity.

Students’ Works:

Creative Mathematic Games Design Contest

Purpose: Our students are encouraged to learn through play, which not only improve their creativity & collaborative skills but also arouse their interest in learning mathematics.
Students’ Works:

Mathematics Field Trip

Purpose: Our students are encouraged to walk out of the classroom, engage in outdoors activity, and apply what they have learned in class to solve the problems.

E-learning

In response to the government policies for publicizing e-learning, our school actively participates in different projects to obtain external funds for enforcing e-learning. So far, our school has participated in the Fourth Strategy on IT in Education - Enhancing Schools’ WiFi Infrastructure and school-wide wireless network coverage is in place as a preparation for the introduction of e-learning to our school. At present, the elements of e-learning have been incorporated into the mathematics subject in the first and Term Twos.
